BANGALORE: Two persons were killed and at least 50 injured when the lorry by which they were travelling overturned in Kanakapura Police Station limits in Bangalore Rural district on Tuesday night. The police said the accident occurred around 11 p.m. on Ramanagara Road off Hoskote village.
Festival
Nearly 60 persons were returning to Kanakapura after participating in a religious festival at Adi Chunchanagiri Kshetra. When the driver suddenly applied the brakes, a few people were thrown out of the lorry. Subsequently the lorry overturned. Two persons, who suffered serious injuries, died at a hospital. Their names were given as Doddamatha (35) and Dharma (24). Nearly 50 persons who suffered injuries have been admitted in hospitals in Bangalore. The Kanakapura Police, who have registered a case in this connection, said that it was raining heavily in the area when the accident occurred.
