BANGALORE: Two men threw chilli powder on the face of a garment showroom employee and robbed him of a bag containing Rs. 4 lakhs in cash in Chickpet police station limits on Tuesday night. The police said Rajendra Kumar, who owns a garment showroom in Chickpet, gave a bag containing Rs. 4 lakhs to his employee Raveeth Singh and asked him to hand it over to his friend in Avenue Road. Around 8.30 a.m., when Mr. Singh was walking near Doddpet Circle, two men threw chilli powder on his face and snatched the bag from him. The Chickpet police have registered a case.
Waylaid
In another incident, two youths waylaid a man and robbed him of Rs. 2,000 in cash in Nandini Layout police station limits on Tuesday night. The police said that around 9.30 p.m. robbers waylaid Shiva Kumar, a resident of Bhuvaneswarinagar, near 4th Block, Basaveshwaranagar, and robbed him of cash and a jacket at knifepoint. At the time of attack, Mr. Shiva Kumar, along with his friend Rajesh, was walking towards a hospital on Chord Road where his father has been admitted. The Nandini Layout police have registered a case.
Four arrested
The police have arrested four persons in connection with the murder of Palani (40), a man with criminal antecedents, who was hacked to death at a private hospital on February 16. The names of the arrested were given as Eshwar (31) of Viveknagar, Vijendra (33) of Lakshmipura and Palani (27) and Parthasarathi (29), both residents of New Bagalur Layout.
