BANGALORE: A 15-year-old schoolgirl ended her life following harassment allegedly by her teacher in Kumaraswamy Layout Police station limits on Saturday. The police gave the name of the girl as Meena, a 9th standard student at an english school at Bendre Nagar on Subramanyapura Main Road. She was a resident of Bendre Nagar. In a complaint to the police, Meena's brother, Kitty, has said that Meena's teacher, Bobby, harassed her saying he was in love with her. He was also forcing her to express her love for him, Kitty has said in the complaint. Meena, Kitty said, has in a note stated that Bobby was "responsible for her death". The Kumaraswamy Layout Police have arrested Bobby.
Crushed to death
A nine-year-old girl was crushed to death under the wheels of a mini bus in Chandra Layout Police Station limits on Sunday. The police gave the name of the girl as Sandhya. According to the police, Sandhya, who was playing with her friends near the Ganesha Temple, came under the wheels of the mini bus when the driver was reversing the vehicle. Another girl, who was injured, is in hospital. The Chandra Layout Police have arrested the driver.
Robbed
An autorickshaw driver and his accomplice reportedly robbed a passenger of Rs. 12,000 in cash in HAL Police Station limits on Saturday. According to the police, Zakir Hussain was returning home with a refilled LPG cylinder in the autorickshaw when a person joined boarded the autorickshaw. Then, the driver and the person together robbed Hussain of the cash, the police said. The HAL Police have registered a case. Investigation is on. Soumya Lakshmi (23), wife of a reporter of a television news channel, committed suicide by hanging herself to death in her house on Chamarajapet 5th Main Road on Sunday, the Kempe Gowda Nagar police said. According to the police, Ms. Lakshmi, a native of Mangalore, was married to reporter Suresh three years ago. He was not at home when the incident occurred, the police said.
