SBT to increase disbursements to farmers

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State Bank of Travancore (SBT) is aiming at a threefold increase in loan disbursement under its Annapoorna scheme in the next two years, the bank said in a release here on Tuesday. The scheme is devoted to farmers cultivating paddy in leased fields. Quoting its general manager, R. G. Gadkari, the release said letters sanctioning loans totalling Rs. 1.42 crore were handed over to 538 farmers at Ramankary in Kuttanad.
