Power cut
CHENNAI:
Power supply will be suspended in parts of Purasawakkam, Kellys, Sowcarpet West, Muthialpet, Esplanade, Mandaveli, Thousand Light, Chepauk, T.V. Pet, Padi, Avadi South, Pattabhiram, Teynampet, Chinnamalai, Arumbakkam, Velachery West, Nungambakkam, C.I.T. Nagar I and Pallavaram areas on Saturday between 9 a.m.
and 5 p.m.
Blood donation
A blood donation camp was conducted by the blood bank of Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch at Datamatics Technologies, Crompton House in Nungambakkam during the opening of their new facility in Chennai.
Japanese language programme

MCA model test
Career Plan is organising a free MCA Model Test for MCA aspirants to Anna University and NITs on Sunday. The test will be followed by a workshop on how to write the exams successfully. The test and workshop will be held at 2 p.m. at the Nungambakkam and Adyar office.

College day
Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital celebrated its college day recently. M.G. Muthukumarasamy, former vice-chancellor, Annamalai varsity urged students to take up community related projects. He distributed prizes to university rank holders.
Cycle expedition
The Air Force organised a cycle expedition to commemorate the platinum jubilee of the inception of the Indian Air Force. It was flagged off by Group Captain K. Jha, Commanding Officer, Mechanical Transport Training Institute, Air Force, from the Air Force station on Wednesday. It is scheduled to be completed by April 2. The five-member team comprising S.D. Rayan, R. Singh, Amal, Vineet Kumar and Naveen left Chennai and will pass through Pondy, Chidambaram, Kumbakonam, Tiruchi, Villupuram and Tambaram. They will be back to Chennai after covering a 760 kms.
National symposium
The Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of MNM Jain Engineering College conducted a national level technical symposium `Elexrieg '06,' on the college premises on Tuesday. It was inaugurated by M. anantha Padmanathan, Chief Executive Officer, Best and Crompton Engineering/ The Principal, V.K.R. Jeya Singh, released the technical souvenir. Around 150 students from various colleges of different States participated in technical paper presentation, dumb charades, quiz and LAN games. S.K. Sabesan, DGM, Air Traffic Management, Air Traffic Services, Chennai, distributed prizes.
