Government's decision to hold CET criticised

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The State Government's decision to hold common entrance test for professional courses has only betrayed its lack of interest in scrapping the CET, the Pattali Makkal Katchi founder S. Ramadoss said on Tuesday.

In a statement, Dr. Ramadoss said that the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Government, seeing the opposition support to the demand of students sought to make the people believe that it too was against CET.

The Madras High Court struck down the Government's new admission process. Instead of acting immediately, the Government brought a Bill before the Assembly at the fag end of the House. This too was quashed by the High Court.
