Back Trinity gets cardiac CT scanning equipment

The Trinity Hospital and Heart Foundation has installed cardiac CT scanning equipment that eliminates evasive coronary angiogram and helps mapping of the heart condition more accurately for early detection of any ailment.

The cardiac CT Brilliance 64 can handle more number of people for examination at a given time thus avoiding the cumbersome evasive procedure of angiogram, which often inhibits patients from going for preventive check-up.

Angiogram under the new equipment is also cheaper costing only Rs 9,000 for a coronary procedure as against Rs 12,000 to 13,000 for conventional procedure. The CT Brilliance can also do angiogram procedures for blood vessels of the brain, kidney, abdomen and leg.

Heart ailments, one of the highest killers, are neglected for fear of cost and evasive procedures.
