BANGALORE: Since 1977, Jon Stemkoski's Celebrant Singers have travelled to 80 nations spreading the love of god through music and song to millions. They will be in Bangalore, performing in different churches here from April 5 to April 12. "What began in the summer of 1977 with one office," says Mr. Stemkoski, founder and driving force behind the group, "has grown into a ministry of seven teams of highly committed young adults." The singers travel several miles, sharing in about 1,500 services in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Cuba, Albania, Iran and the former Soviet Union nations. The Celebrant Singers provided the music for Mother Teresa's Nobel Peace Prize reception and during one Holy Week visit in Rome, sang in St. Peter's Square to nearly 50,000 people at the invitation of Pope John Paul II. In Bangalore, they will perform at Shinakh Prayer House, off Nandidurg Road on April 5; at Holy Ghost Church, Richards Town on April 6; at Full Gospel Assembly of God Church, 6th Main Road, Indira Nagar, on April 7; at St. Patrick's Church, Museum Road on April 8; at St. Francis Xavier's Cathedral, Fraser Town on April 9; at Resurrection Church at the junction of 80 ft Road and Old Madras Road on April 10; and at El-Bethel Ministries, Hennur Road, behind Campus Crusade on April 12.
