Kirby announces expansion plans

$20 m unit in Haridwar

HYDERABAD: Kirby Building Systems India Ltd, a firm that provides pre-engineered steel building solutions, has announced the setting up of a state-of-the-art production plant in Haridwar, Uttaranchal, with an investment of $20 million. Uttaranchal Chief Minister, N. D. Tiwari, will inaugurate the plant on April 6.

The plant will produce 60,000 tonnes of pre-engineered steel building (PEB) structures. It is expected to create direct employment for more than 500 people and indirect employment to 5,000, Managing Director and CEO, Kirby India, V. R. Rajan, told reporters here on Tuesday.

Marwan J. Karadsheh and Omar Kutayba Alghanim, CEO Alghanim Industries, were present.

With the new plant, Kirby's total capacity will increase to 1.35 lakh tonnes a year taking into account the capacity of its plant (75,000 tonnes) in Medak, Andhra Pradesh, built with an investment of $30 million.
