Special Correspondent

GULBARGA: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the activities of arrested Lashkar-e-Taiba operative Shami Ahmed Shah in Gulbarga left for Bangalore on Tuesday along with the accused for conducting brain mapping, polygraph and narco analysis tests on him.

Inspector-General of Police G. Ramakrishna told The Hindu that Shah is likely to subjected to the tests at the Karnataka State Forensic Science Laboratory on Wednesday or Thursday.

A team of anti-terrorist squad from Maharashtra consisting of two inspectors, who arrived here on Monday night, interrogated Shah about his activities in Mumbai. Shah, who was born and brought up in Mumbai, later shifted to Goa along with his family. It was during his stay in Mumbai that he went to Oman and Saudi Arabia for employment and came into contact with the Lashkar-e-Taiba activists in Saudi Arabia.

The SIT police officials were tight-lipped about the outcome of the interrogation. A senior police official said the police were forced to maintain secrecy about the movement of the LeT operative.
