Forex reserves up $2.96 b

MUMBAI: India's foreign exchange reserves increased by $2.96 billion to $151.622 billion during the week ended March 31 from $148.662 billion during the week ended March 24.

The reserves had increased by $2.503 billion during the preceding week ended March 24 compared to a week ago period.

Foreign currency assets increased by $2.949 billion to $145.108 billion during the week under review, according to figures released by the Reserve Bank of India.

Foreign currency assets in dollars include the effect of revaluation of non-U.S. currencies such as euro, British pound sterling and Japanese yen held in reserves. Reserve position in the IMF increased by $3 million to $756 million. — PTI
