Pakistan to issue 10,000 visas to Sikh pilgrims

Moga (Punjab): The Pakistan Government has agreed to issue 10,000 visas to Sikh pilgrims to participate in `Parkash Utsav,' the 400th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Arjan Dev on June 16 at Gurdwara Dehra Sahib in Lahore.

Pakistan Prime Minister Aziz Ahmed gave this assurance to a five-member delegation that met him in Islamabad on Saturday night.

The delegation also met Pakistan Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and Foreign Minister Khurshid Ahmed and submitted a memorandum regarding the mercy appeal of Sarbjit Singh, who has been sentenced to death on terrorism charges. — PTI
