Bangalore: The Software Division of the Computer Society of India in association with CICC, Singapore, National Resource Centre for Free and Open Source Software (OSS) of CDAC, Chennai, and RMK Engineering College is organising a five-day southern regional training programme from May 22 in Chennai on Open Source Software. The programme will cover Free and OSS and GNU/LINUX Linux Installations; OSS Licensing and Copyright issues; Desktop Management; Command Line, File System operations Package; Hardware Management; Apache / MySQL; PHP Introduction and Web Database connectivity etc. The speakers and the resource persons for this training programme are drawn from both academia and industry. Participation in the programme is free and is open to members of the teaching faculty. Persons from industry, government departments and other organisations are also eligible. The programme is open to those interested from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
