Youth hacked
Thiruvananthapuram:
A 20-year-old youth, Arun, of Kunnumpara, Kodunganoor, Vattiyoorkavu, was admitted with injuries to Medical College hospital late on Monday night after some unidentified persons hacked him. Staff Reporter
Lorry catches fire
Thiruvananthapuram:
A lorry-laden with hay caught fire near Nettinkuzhi in Vilappilsala police station limits on Monday afternoon. According to the police, sparks from beneath the lorry led to the incident at 1 p.m. Locals and the police rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire. No one was injured in the incident, police said. Staff Reporter
College teachers to join protest
Thiruvananthapuram:
The Association of Kerala Government College teachers has decided to join the protest organised by the All India Federation of University and College teachers, which is beginning a non-stop satyagraha in front of Parliament from May 16, raising various demands. Some of the demands include appointment of the UGC commission for the sixth pay revision and resolving the anomalies in the fifth pay revision commission. Staff Reporter
