THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) will conduct tests for recruitment of higher secondary teachers in 11 subjects in May, the PSC said in a press release on Tuesday. The PSC will conduct tests in other subjects afterwards. For Malayalam, Arabic and Sanskrit, the candidates should have postgraduate degrees in the subject concerned and B.Ed., in addition to the other qualifications specified in the notification issued earlier. Only candidates who are in the `list-1' published by the PSC in this connection will be allowed to attend the tests in these three subjects. In the case of the other eight subjects, only candidates having B.Ed. degrees in the subjects concerned or in the faculty in addition to the qualifications specified in the earlier notification will be allowed to take the tests. The PSC said that there had been a flood of applications for the tests. This had forced the PSC to reject the applications of those who held B.Ed. certificates in subjects other than the applied for subjects. Those who did not have B.Ed. degrees in the subjects concerned, in addition to the notified qualifications, had been excluded from the list of candidates.
