HCA awards function tomorrow

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Cricket Association will organise the annual prize distribution function for the victorious teams of the 2005-06 at Gymkhana Grounds on April 28 at 4.30 pm, according to N. Shivlal Yadav, secretary of HCA.

N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Congress Chief Whip, AP Legislative Assembly, will be the chief guest.

Coaching camps

District Sports Authority of Ranga Reddy will conduct annual summer coaching camps from May 2 to 31 in various disciplines at different venues. Interested should contact the District Sports Development Officer at Gymkhana Grounds for further particulars.

Hockey camps

Ranga Reddy District Hockey Association will organise eighth annual summer coaching camp for boys and girls at different School grounds from May 1. Jai Raj feted

Students of Osmania University College of Physical Education felicitated J.Jai Raj on retiring from service as Principal of the University College of Physical Education. They recalled his contribution to the promotion of sports especially for his efforts to construct an indoor stadium, basketball courts and the cycling velodrome.

Jai Raj also served in many capacities including as secretary of inter-university tournaments and in-charge director of Department of Physical Education. Prof Syed Ibrahim, Head of Department, B. Yadaiah, president of AP Physical Education Teachers Association, were among those who lauded Jai Raj's efforts.
