KSSA selection trials in May

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The trials to select trainees to plus two and college hostels run by Kerala State Sports Authority for the academic year 2006-07 will be held at different venues from May 8 to 18.

The trials will be held in football (men), wrestling (men), boxing (women), hockey (women), athletics, basketball, volleyball, handball and swimming for plus two sports hostels. For college hostels, trials will be held in athletics, basketball, volleyball, swimming, football (men), handball (women), wrestling (women) and hockey (women).

Candidates appearing for the test should have at least represented their districts in team events or have won medals at district-level competitions.

The trials will be held at Kannur Police Stadium on May 8, at St. Joseph's College (Devagiri) on May 9, at Corporation Stadium (Thrissur) on May 15, at Nehru Stadium (Kottayam) on May 18 and Central Stadium (Thiruvananthapuram) on May 18, Swimming pool (Naniyode) on May 18 and at Aquatic Complex (Thrissur) on May 15.Those interested should report at the venues at 8.30 a.m. with relevant documents supporting their age, educational qualification and achievements. Quarterfinalists were spotted in both the boys and girls sections in the 23rd State youth basketball championships at the Municipal maidan in Alappuzha on Wednesday.
