South zone football from April 30

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 15th South Zone under-21 football championship for the M.M. Datta Ray Trophy will be held at the Rajiv Gandhi Municipal stadium in Tirur (Malappuram district) from April 30 to May 7.

Teams from Karnataka, Pondicherry and Andhra Pradesh besides host Kerala have confirmed their participation in the tournament. Only the topper of the four-team league will qualify for the final round to be held in Jamalpur, Bihar, from May 15.

The fixtures: April 30: Kerala v Andhra Pradesh; May 1: Karnataka v Pondicherry; May 3: Kerala v Pondicherry; May 4: Andhra Pradesh v Karnataka; May 6: Pondicherry v Andhra Pradesh; May 7: Kerala v Karnataka (kick-off of all matches at 6.30 p.m.).
