Bangalore: Deepak Chougule's 100 (106 balls, 17x4) set up KSCA XI's 182-run victory over the visiting Mosman Cricket Club from Australia in a match on Wednesday. KSCA posted 351 and then bowled out Mosman CC for 169 in 39 overs. Incidentally, Mosman CC failed to field eleven players and a few local players crossed over into their side for the match. A local player Raju Bhatkal (49) topscored for the visitors. Meanwhile at the RSI Ground, KSCA Colts defeated Mosman CC Juniors by 110 runs. K.L. Rahul's 103 guided KSCA Colts to 273 for four in 40 overs and Mosman CC was bowled out for 163. The scores: Seniors: KSCA XI 351 for five in 50 overs (Deepak Chougule 100, Amit Verma 73, B. Chipli 51) bt Mosman CC 169 in 39 overs (Raju Bhatkal 49). Juniors: KSCA Colts 273 for four in 40 overs (K.L. Rahul 103 retired, Shashindra 40) bt Mosman CC 163 in 39.4 overs (M. Agarwal 93).
Salauddin shines
A five-wicket haul by leg-spinner Md. Salauddin (five for 18), helped Mysore `A' to a facile five-wicket win over Chamarajanagar in the KSCA Mysore Zone under-17 inter-district cricket tournament atMysore on Wednesday. The scores: Chamarajanagar 154 in 37.2 overs (Md. Muzummal Pasha 50, Md. Salauddin five for 18) lost to Mysore `A' 158 for five in 29.5 overs (Rohith V. Tiwari 52); Mysore `B' 236 in 45 overs (Yogesh 98) bt Mandya 120 for eight in 45 overs (Sharath Kumar 40). Tuesday's scores: Mysore `A' 219 for seven in 45 overs (S. Uttamraj 73, Krishna Koushik 60) bt Mandya XI 122 in 32.3 overs (Md. Salauddin four for 16); Mysore `B' 244 for eight in 45 overs (Lakshman 74) bt Chamarajanagar 100 in 34.5 overs.
Ambedkar SC in quarterfinals
Ambedkar SC scored a runaway 49-11 win over Nationals, Mysore, in the State under-13 basketball championship and made it to the boys quarterfinals in Bangalore today. The Ambedkar boys, coached by former State player Sachin, proved vastly superior in all departments and ran away with the match after leading 28-6 at the halfway mark. Akshay (14) and Vinay (10) stole the limelight for the winners. Also making the last-eight grade were Rangers, Mysore, VN Sports Club, Pinakini, and Creative, Chitradurga. The results: Boys (pre-quarterfinals): Rangers 19 bt Vidyarayanpura 14; VN Sports Club 17 bt Rajmahal 14 (8-4); Pinakini 28 bt Beagles 5 (12-3); Creative, Chitradurga 29 bt IBBC 16; Ambedkar SC 49 (Akshay 14, Vinay 10) bt Nationals, Mysore 11.
