Panel formed to explore infrastructure for MSIT

Two students from each mandal would be selected for the course

ANANTAPUR: A meeting of members of the Executive Council, deans and other key authorities of Sri Krishnadevaraya University was held on the university campus near here on Friday on introducing MSIT 21st Century Gurukul course from the coming academic year.

Chairing the meeting, Vice-Chancellor A. Rama Rao said the post-graduate course likely to be in streams of two and three years for students from the rural areas who had passed any bachelor's degree would be a great opportunity.

Two from mandal

Two students from each mandal would be selected for the course through an entrance test in the university purview.

As there were 125 mandals in Anantapur and Kurnool districts, the purview of SKU, 250 students would be selected for the course, he stated.

Job-guaranteed course

It would be a job-guaranteed course with entire expenditure of Rs. 1 lakh to be offered by banks as loan.

They had to repay the loan if they get employment, or else the students need not repay the amount at all. The Vice Chancellor formed a three-member committee comprising Rector C.R. Visveswar Rao, Principal C.R. Reddy and Vice Principal C. Pullaiah to prepare a report on the infrastructure required for the new course and other requirements.

The course is likely to be offered from outside the university campus.
