Back AP Cabinet clears Infosys land allotment

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has cleared allotment of 150 acres of land for IT major Infosys Technologies Ltd at Mamidipally and Kancha Imarat villages in Ranga Reddy districts.

Announcing this here at a press conference here on Saturday, Mr Mohammad Shabbir Ali, Minister for Power and Information and Public Relations, said the company would have its biggest campus in Hyderabad once it got 400 acres more in the third phase.

The company had committed to provide jobs to 37,000 people. The present allotment had been made at Rs 2 lakh an acre.

The Cabinet also decided to make it mandatory for all medical establishments to register with the authorities. "We will prescribe certain standards and those establishments need to comply. This will ensure quality medical services to the people," Dr I.V. Subba Rao, Principal Secretary (Health), said.

The Government also allocated 10 acres of land to the Apollo Hospitals Group at the market price of Rs 2 crore per acre at Chinna Gadila village near Visakhapatnam. The Apollo Hopsital's plans to construct a super speciality hospital.

The Government has extended "irrevocable guarantee" to the Andhra Pradesh State Co-operative Bank to release Rs 194.5 crore to nine co-operative sugar factories (CSF) towards working capital needs. The factories included Sri Venkateswara CSF (Renigunta), Kovur CSF (Nellore) and Sri Vijayarama Gajapathi CSF (Bhimasinghi).
