Worker electrocuted

BANGALORE: A construction worker was electrocuted in a building that was under construction in Ramamurthynagar Police Station limits on Saturday.

The police gave the name of the dead as Sampige Rajendra (45), a native of Tamil Nadu.

According to the police, the building contractor had asked the worker to clean the building.

As wiring was yet to be done, Sampige Rajendra used a lamp with temporary wiring with a view to carry out the task.

Near the water sump, the cable came in contact with water and Sampige Rajendra died on the spot, the police said.

Dies of burns

An 18-year-old housewife died of burns that she suffered in a fire accident in Byappanahalli Police Station limits on Saturday.

The police gave the name of the victim as Deepa, wife of Chandrappa, resident of Malleshpalya.

According to the police, Deepa suffered burns when a fire broke out while she was making tea for relatives who were on a visit. She was admitted to a hospital where she died on Sunday.
