Mahila Sahaya Vedike set up
Karnataka State Commission for Women has established a Mahila Sahaya Vedike to create awareness among women litigants about legal provisions to settle their matrimonial disputes at the family courts in Bangalore. They will be given guidance o nfiling cases, court procedures and in getting help from the police and other official agencies and legal services authority. Gospel meeting
Salem Brethren Worship Home Trust, a Telugu Christian assembly, will organise the 18th Telugu Special Revival Gospel Meeting from May 5 to May 7. The meetings will be held at Wesley Community Hall, opposite Football Stadium. The meetings will be spread over three sessions with an exclusive Bible Study from 2.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Free boarding and lodging will be provided to those who wish to stay for the entire duration of the meeting, a press release said. AIDYO protest
The All India Democratic Youth Organisation (AIDYO) organised a demonstration on Saturday against the "pay and park" scheme in front of the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) office. It alleged that a coterie of contractors and BMP officers were behind the proposed reintroduction of the scheme. An effigy of "corruption and contractors' lobby" was burnt at the protest site.
Blood donation camp
Udaya TV will organise a blood donation camp at the ADA Rangamandira on J.C. Road here on Monday. The camp will be open from 10.30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
