Governor's May Day greetings

BANGALORE: Governor T.N. Chaturvedi and Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy have, in their May Day greetings, stressed the need for safeguarding the interests of workers in the unorganised sector in particular.

In fact, the Governor has expressed his concern over the plight of workers in the unorganised sector.

In his message, the Governor has said that despite the efforts of the Government in improving the lot of the workmen, a vast majority of them in the unorganised sector are still being deprived of proper service conditions and social security benefits.

"It would be appropriate on this day to rededicate ourselves to the cause of improving the working conditions and standard of living of these workmen," he said.

The Chief Minister said that besides encouraging investment in the State, it was the duty of the Government to safeguard the interests of workers, especially those in the unorganised sector.
