BANGALORE: A woman with disabilities, who eked a living by begging, was bludgeoned to death under mysterious circumstances in Banaswadi police station limits in the early hours of Monday. The police gave her name as Kala (30). Kala had slept on the first floor of a building under construction near IOC Circle in Banaswadi. Vanila, wife of the building's watchman, Prabhu, was sleeping on another floor of the same building. Around 12.30 a.m., Vanila heard some commotion and she rushed to the first floor. She found Kala lying dead there. The assailants had smashed Kala's head with a boulder, the police said. The motive behind the murder is not known. Police said circumstantial evidence suggests that there was no sexual attack on Kala. The Banaswadi police have registered a case.
