`India has lost a charismatic leader'

Bangalore: Legislative Council Chairman V.R. Sudarshan has mourned the death of Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary Pramod Mahajan and said the BJP had lost a charismatic leader.

In a message, he said that Mr. Mahajan had played a major role in building the image of the BJP.

Akhila Bharatiya Veerashaiva Mahasabha president Bheemanna Khandre said that the country had lost a patriot.

Astute organiser

In a press release issued here, the former Minister said that Mr. Mahajan was a dynamic and an astute organiser and a powerful orator.

The former Minister P.G.R. Sindhia said that though the Bharatiya Janata Party leader had been in power for only a short time, Mr. Mahajan had left a mark.

He was loved by leaders of all parties, Mr. Sindhia said.

Revenue Minister Jagadish Shettar said that the death of Mr. Mahajan was a great loss to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The youth in the country had lost a great leader who strove hard to build a new India, the Minister said.
