No intention of hiking fee this year: Minister

BANGALORE: Higher Education Minister D.H. Shankaramurthy on Thursday said that students and parents need not worry about professional college fee as it was not likely to be increased this year.

The State Government did not intend to increase the fee this year, he said.

Talks

The Government would hold talks with the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) about the latter's announcement that postgraduate students would have to pay an additional fee equal to 20 per cent of the one fixed by the Rangavittalachar fee fixation committee, the Minister said.

Since the issue was not before the Supreme Court, the fee fixed by the committee would stand, he said.
