NEW DELHI: The Indian under-16 boys beat Vietnam 3-0, dropping a mere seven games in all, in the positional competition of the Asia-Oceania junior Davis Cup tennis championship at Kuching, Malaysia, on Friday. India will next meet the ninth-seeded Indonesia and needs to win two matches to finish ninth. In the quarterfinals, Korea beat Uzbekistan 3-0, top-seeded Australia defeated New Zealand 2-1, Thailand downed India's nemesis China 2-0 and Japan outclassed Chinese Taipei 2-0. The results: India bt Vietnam 3-0 (Venkat Iyer bt Hoang-Nam Lam 6-1, 6-4; Vijayant Malik bt Ngoc-Hien Tran 6-0, 6-0; Venkat Iyer and Sriram Balaji bt Hoang-Nam Lam and Huu-Hieu Nguyen 6-1, 6-1).
