SAI Dharwad suspended

Bangalore: The Karnataka State Basketball Association suspended SAI Dharwad from the current State junior basketball championship in progress at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium courts. SAI Dharwad was suspended and its earlier match results scratched after the visiting team was found guilty of fielding an over-age player Irrappa Kattimani. And since SAI Dharwad was suspended, Ambedkar Sports Club qualified for the semi-final league.

The results: Girls: Viveknagar 44 (Reeth 24) bt Beagles 38 (Sophia 10), ht: 21-16; Sports Hostel 56 (Kruthika 22) bt Mounts Club 24 (Tinusha 8), ht: 28-15.

Boys: JSC 58 (Minhal 16) bt IBBC 47 (Nitin 19), ht: 27-27; SAI Dharwad 47 bt YOSC 43. Match awarded to YOSC after SAI Dharwad was suspended for fielding over-age player.
