BANGALORE: Based on mobile phone call details, the Kamakshipalya police have unravelled the mystery behind the murder of a young businessman who had gone missing since December 12.

Investigations have revealed that Adishekar (28) was allegedly strangled by his friend Nandish, who runs a small hotel at ITI Layout in Mallathalli.

After Adishekar, who traded in shampoos and gutka, went missing for long, his brother Balaji of Agrahara Dasarahalli lodged a complaint with the Kamakshipalya police.

He had also given the mobile phone number of Adishekar to the police.

During investigation, the police found that Adsihekar's mobile phone number was still in use and Nandish was using it.

The police recently took Nandish into custody and questioned him about Adishekar's whereabouts.

During interrogation, he revealed that on December 12 he had strangled Adishekar at his hotel.

Later, he had packed the body in a gunny bag and dumped it in a drain in a secluded area near Mallatahalli.

With Nandish's help, the police found Adishekar's putrefied body in the drain.

Nandish, who was in debts, had murdered Adishekar to rob him of money as he normally carried huge amounts with him, the police said.
