According to a press release from BWSSB here on Friday, the water crisis is acute due to summer and frequent power interruptions.

The areas facing scarcity of water in the northern parts of the city are R.T. Nagar, Sanjayanagar, Sultanapalya, Kaval Byrasandra, and Hebbal. The areas in the eastern parts of the city are HAL 2nd Stage, C.V. Ramanagar, Indiranagar, Kodihalli, D.J. Halli and Pillappa Garden.

Mr. Muniyappa chaired an emergency meeting on Friday and instructed the officials to transfer 30 MLD — 10 MLD from T.G. Halli and 20 MLD from CWSS third and fourth stage.

Emergency cells had also been set up to effectively monitor the situation in these areas. The cell would comprise the chief engineer, additional engineer and six executive engineers from the maintenance division. The cell had been instructed to review the water supply situation on a day-to-day basis, the release added.

Officials had also been directed to patrol the areas coming under their jurisdiction during the water supply hours and monitor the situation. In addition to the transfer of 30 MLD, eleven and five water supply tankers would be deployed in the eastern and northern divisions.
