NBA activist stages protest

MUMBAI: An activist of the Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA), Simpreet Singh today staged a lone protest at the annual convocation of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), which was addressed by the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh.

He held a black cloth banner which had "Development or Destruction" written in white.

Silent protest

As soon as the Prime Minister finished his speech, Simpreet stood up in silent protest holding the banner.

The police quickly folded his banner and took him outside the convocation venue.
