Blast in Hyderabad cinema hall injures two

Hyderabad: Two persons, including a girl, sustained injuries when a crude bomb exploded inside a theatre at Chikkadpally area here late on Sunday night.

The blast occurred on the balcony of Odeon Cinema, where the night show of a Telugu movie was on, police said.

Eyewitness accounts said a spark was followed by a shattering sound in the second row from the balcony wall at 9.55 p.m.

Furniture in the theatre were damaged.

The theatre was vacated and a search was made.

The police located a grenade lever which they described as HE-36, a foreign make. City Police Commissioner A.K. Mohanty and other officials also visited the spot.

The injured were rushed to the Gandhi Hospital. — PTI
