Back Call to develop Udupi, DK as educational hubs Our Bureau
Mangalore , May 9 Dr N.K. Thingalaya, Chairman of the Academic Council of Justice K.S. Hegde Institute of Management, has stressed the need for developing Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts as international education hubs. Presiding over the Institute Day celebrations of Justice K.S. Hegde Institute of Management at Nitte in Udupi district recently, Dr Thingalaya said that like Singapore - which has been attracting educational institutes from all over the world - Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts can be developed as international education hubs. He hoped that the proposed operations of international flights from Mangalore would help in this matter. A press release by the institute said here on Tuesday that Mr P. Tamilvanan, Chairman of New Mangalore Port Trust, was the chief guest at the function. He said private participation in most of the economic activities is bringing in investments and modern technologies to the port sector. Mr Tamilvanan told the management students that the transparency in decision-making and style of functioning is essential in all walks of life. Dr M.S. Moodithaya, Director of the institute, was present.
