Back UP Power Corpn fined for grid violation

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) on Tuesday imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL)for continuous violation of grid code norms.

Acting on a petition by the Northern Region Load Dispatch Centre (NRLDC), the regulator also decided to appoint an adjudicating officer to look into other complaints received from northern region constituents against the UPPCL.

The CERC also asked NRLDC to continuously monitor the functioning of Uttar Pradesh and other States.
