NOTHING LIKE films to discuss social issues; dwelling on a serious issue such as "Reservations: Typecasting Dalit Rights?," the People's Union for Civil Liberties (Karnataka), the Peoples Democratic Forum and the Pedestrian Pictures jointly organised a panel discussion and an evening of films on Tuesday. Among the films featured were "Untouchable Country" directed by R.R. Srinivasan, and "Resilient Rhythms" directed by Gopal Menon. Mr. Menon's film was about a range of Dalit responses to their marginalisation.
