Back Alps Industries Q4 net up 51 pc

Alps Industries Ltd has reported an increase of 51 per cent in the net profit at Rs 8.01 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2006 from Rs 5.32 crore during the same period last year.

Income from company operations has recorded an increase of 69 per cent to Rs 84.58 crore (Rs 50.05 crore).

The company recorded a 46 per cent growth in its income from operations at Rs 263.03 crore (Rs 179.56 crore). Net profit was up 73 per cent at Rs 24.46 crore (Rs14.14 crore).

The company also announced the bonus issue at 1:1 for all shareholders including GDR holders as well as eligible Zero Coupon Convertible Warrants holders, which will be one additional equity share for every one existing share held by members/warrant holders by capitalising the part of the general reserve.

The company's shares traded at Rs 252 on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Wednesday.—
