SKU's engineering college cleared

Government issues NOC, seeks AICTE's approval


  • 50 to 100 acres of Government land sought for the purpose
  • Committee set up to study facilities in other colleges and replicate the same in the new college
  • First year classes to commence from the current academic year

    ANANTAPUR: To marks its silver jubilee year, Sri Krishnadevaraya University here is setting up an engineering college from the academic year 2006-07.

    The State Government has already issued a no objection certificate to the university in this regard and the AICTE has also been moved for its approval.

    Giving the details to newspersons here on Thursday, SKU Vice-Chancellor A. Rama Rao stated that the State Government had given NOC to start B.Tech course in biotechnology and computer science and engineering with an intake capacity of 60 students each.

    Efforts were also being made to start B.Tech in electronics and communication engineering too.

    The new engineering college would offer courses on self-financing method.

    Admissions would be made by the Convenor of EAMCET-2006.

    The V-C stated they would seek 50 to 100 acres of Government land for the purpose.
