Congress MLAs patch up

Blame common enemies for creating differences and misunderstandings

GUNTUR: Guntur-I and Guntur-II legislators have patched up after two years of rivalry. They shared a common dais on Thursday to announce their newfound friendship.

The two Congress MLAs, who never spoke to each other in a friendly manner and opposed each other in everything, turned rivals during the Guntur Municipal Corporation elections. There was keen tussle between Guntur-I MLA's son Sheik Ghouse and Guntur-II MLA's brother Tadisetty Murali Mohan for the Deputy Mayor's post. Finally they had come to an understanding to share the seat for two-and-a-half years each.

Even after that they were never seen together anywhere, but for fighting a common opponent within the party . Making public announcement on their patch-up Mr. Subhani said they had some misunderstanding all these days created by common enemies.

"We are to be blamed for the gap between us as we listened to some people, who had worked against our interests and created a distance," he said.

"Now we will work together for the development of the party and city ," the MLA added.

"Some brokers brought difference between us and I should blame myself for not having behaved properly with Mr. Subhani, but in future we shall work together for the development of the city," said Guntur-II MLA Tadisetty Ventaka Rao at a function organised by the City Congress Committee to release the names of its office-bearers.

He took the blame for unknowingly harming the Guntur-I MLA on some occasion. City Congress president Mada Radha Krishna Murthy played the role of a peace-broker and provided them the platform to express their views.
