12 TRS activists killed in accident

SANGAREDDY: Twelve TRS activists from Chilukurai village of Pedapalli mandal in Karimnagar were killed and another 31 seriously injured in a ghastly accident, near Gouraram on Rajiv Rahadari in Medak district, on Saturday.

According to the police, the accident, involving a private school bus hired by the followers of TRS dissident MLA Mukunda Reddy and a truck carrying sand, occurred in front of Rane break liners manufacturing unit. Some 43 persons were travelling in the bus. All the passengers were on their way to Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad to join the Congress.

Driver of the bus Sampth Rao (30), Mekala Raju (35), Mekala Peda Ramulu (30), Mekala China Ramulu (35), Vempalli Vodaiah (30), Vengala Rammurty (30), Mekala Gattaiah (32), Kola Srinu (30), Ravi (30) and Lanka Dasari Odelu (38) died on the spot. Swami (35) and Bongula Rajesh (30) succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
