Back AVT Natural Products bags `SME of the year' award

AVT Natural Products Ltd (AVTNP) has won the SME of the Year Emerging India Award in FMCG, Food and Agri-Business category.

The Award was presented to the company at a function held in Mumbai.

The AVTNP won the award in the fiercely competitive category of "FMCG, Food and Agri-Business" because of the significant value creation for all the stakeholders of the company - customers, employees, farmers as suppliers of raw material, society at large, and shareholders, an official release here said.

The company posted a sales turnover of Rs72 crore with a PAT of Rs 7.5 crore, it said.

The success of the company, the release said, was attributable to the strategic alliance it has forged with world-class companies with global presence and access to unique technologies.

The "contract farming" model for growing marigold flowers in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh with the objective of improving the net farm returns and controlling the quality at source was another critical success factor of the company, it said.
