Power shutdown

There will be no power supply on Tuesday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Coconut Garden, Garden Vilas apartment, Chalukya Nagar, Hoysala Nagar, Nagarbhavi Circle, Teachers' Colony, Nagarbhavi village, NGEF layout, Manasa Nagar, Kurubarahalli, Karnataka Layout, Kaveri Nagar, Kanaka Nagar, SVK Layout, VGUSS Layout, Kirloskar Colony, Grihalakshmi Layout, and surrounding areas, R.M.Nagar, Dasappa Layout, Kuvempu Nagar, Kodandaramnagar, Bhuvaneshwari Nagar, Erayyanapalya, Shanimahatma temple and surrounding areas, according to the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company.

Free legal service

The Office of the Commissioner for Disabilities in association with the Alternative Law Forum is providing free legal services to persons with disabilities at the Commissioner's office, 40, Thambuchetty Road, Cox Town, between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. every Wednesday and also at VOICES, 165, 9th Cross 1st stage, Indiranagar every Thursday between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Persons with disabilities interested in availing themselves of the service may contact ph. 25482641 (OCD) or 25213902/25213903 (VOICES).

Workshop

Transparency International India will host a workshop on "Improved governance" on May 20, which will be inaugurated by Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court Cyriac Joseph. A highlight of the programme is the presentation of the "Scroll of honour" which will be presented to Lokayukta N. Venkatachala.
