Back MoneyGram to expand agents network

MoneyGram International, a leading money transfer company, plans to expand its agents network in India to emerge as one of the leading players in the domestic market as well, its Regional Director, Asia Pacific and India, Mr Nick Cunnew, has said.

He told presspersons here on Wednesday that "With more than 20 million Indians living overseas, we believe that our agents in India help MoneyGram to play an important role in connecting them to their families in India by providing affordable, reliable, convenient and safe money transfers."

Mr Nick Cunnew said, "We want to make our service convenient for our customers living overseas in the US, Canada, the UK, the UAE or from any of the approximately 92,000 MoneyGram locations in 170 countries and territories around the globe."

According to the MoneyGram Country Manager, Mr Harsh Lambah, the company has special pricing and competitive exchange rates for India. Compared to the rates of the leading players in the domestic market, the prices of MoneyGram work out over 50 per cent cheaper, he said.

With more NRIs from Punjab and Andhra Pradesh, the company proposes to focus its attention more on these two Sates. "We want to make it convenient for our customers to find a MoneyGram agent location close to their homes or places of work," Mr Lambah said.
