"FOLLOW THE ethical and value-based management practices that the institute has instilled in you and contribute to society and nation by being socially responsible managers," said Governor T.N. Chaturvedi speaking at the graduation ceremony of the 10th batch of PGDBM of the Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME). As many as 117 students received their Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration at the ceremony. Here is a list of the big winners at the graduation ceremony: Nikhil Dwaraknath won the chairman's gold medal for the student scoring highest CGPA and Devarsh D. Rastogi won the director's award for best performance in finance area. V-Guard company award for best performance in marketing area went to Nikhil Dwaraknath while K.C Mohan Award for best performance in HR was shared between Dipti Vijayakumar and Dhaniashree P. Arun Samuel bagged the R. Mohan Award for best performance in the Systems area, Piyana Bandyopadhyay and Ajay Jayashankar won the Anshul Choudhary Memorial Award for the most musically talented student and Mahalaxmi G. Bhatt won the best student's summer project. Ram Prakash J. bagged the Director's Special Award for best contribution to student's placement activity while Teena Xavier won the George Thomas Award for the best all round performance and Jose Jacob K. secured the Triune Company Award of gold medal for the graduate with the best potential value to society. The function was attended by Dr. Alphonus Mathias, Archbishop Emeritus of Bangalore and president of XIME Society and Sarosh Ghandy, chairman of XIME.
Grooming school
The Basic Global Teachers Grooming School (BGTGS) for Teachers has launched a one-month course in soft skills training to supplement B.Ed. and N.T.T. training. The grooming school offers training in communication and presentation skills, holistic intelligence, effective classroom management and tips to become a successful teacher. The first batch has graduated and the second batch will be commencing soon. Those interested can enrol on or before May 27. All experienced teachers interested in upgrading their teaching skills and fresh graduates with aptitude for teaching are eligible for the course. For more details, call 9343871824.
Management games
The M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Management (MSRIT) recently hosted the 15th National Management Games, organised by the All India Management Association (AIMA), in association with the Bangalore Management Association. At the end of it all, the team from Ashok Leyland, Chennai, led by T. Raja Durai, emerged as the winners. Reliance Industries, Mumbai, led by Ashish Rana, and L&T, Chennai, led by Ajay Jain, were the first and second runners up respectively. The winners, Leyland and first runner up RIL will participate in the national finals in Delhi. The winners were awarded a trophy by the M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Management.
