Hyderabad, May 18
SumTotal Systems, a Nasdaq-listed learning management systems provider, on Thursday announced plans to invest about $10 million per year over the next three to four years in Indian operations. The company invested about $2 million in the new infrastructure that has capability to host about 300 people in the Raheja Park here. The Chief Executive Officer of SumTotal Systems, Mr Don Fowler, said the company has achieved $100-million revenue rate and has turned profitable. "The Hyderabad centre forms a significant part of the company's global operations handling product development, professional services and global support," Mr Fowler said. The Managing Director of SumTotal Systems India, Mr Sudheer Koneru, said: "The company currently employs about 250 people here and expects to induct about 50 more by the end of this year. Typically, for an IT services company, they would need about 2,500 to 3,000 people if they were to achieve revenues of about $100 million. With products and services, we have managed to do so with barely 750 people, serving more than 17 million users across 1500 enterprises worldwide."
