TVS Interconnected Systems Ltd's (TVSICS) proposed Madurai manufacturing base for cellular base station antennas has bagged an order from the Reliance group worth about Rs 200 crore, according to Mr Biswajit Patnaik, General Manager - Sales and Marketing (Telecom), TVSICS. He told presspersons here on Friday that he received the order from Reliance for 2,207 antennas. The facility would manufacture the antennas in technical collaboration with Australia-based Argus Technologies, a company that manufactures CDMA/GSM antennas.

The company, which offers solutions to the telecommunication and enterprise networking segment, has invested Rs 50 crore in the manufacturing facility, which will also include an outdoor antenna test range. Mr R. Guruprasad, Chief Technical Officer, TVSICS, said the testing facility would be ready by July and the manufacturing facility by September. Mr Patnaik said that the company would look to manufacture 10,000 antennas in the first year, and the number would be progressively stepped up according to the demand.
