Back Agri loans: SBI for central processing

State Bank of India (SBI) has decided to introduce centralised processing of agriculture loans after making similar arrangements for personal and commercial loans. A first such centre in Uttar Pradesh has been launched at Budaun as a model. Mr Shiva Kumar, Chief General Manager, State Bank of India, Lucknow circle, inaugurated the centre. Apart from Uttar Pradesh, the bank has also decided to have similar models running on pilot basis in two other States — Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal. After this experience, the SBI plans to launch Agriculture Central Processing Centres across the country for rural areas.
