BANGALORE: Three persons were robbed of two gold chains and a mobile phone in the city on Thursday, the police said. The police said that around 7 p.m. a youth snatched a gold chain valued at Rs. 45,000 from a bank employee Revathi in Malleswaram police station limits. When Revathi, a resident of 13th B Cross, Malleswaram, alighted an autorickshaw near her house, the youth snatched the chain from her. The Malleswaram police have registered a case. A youth snatched a gold chain valued at Rs. 25,000 from Lalitha (50), a resident of Malagala, in Kamakshipalya police station limits. The incident occurred around 7.30 p.m. near the Jnana Bharathi Ring Road.
In yet another incident, four persons waylaid Amardeep Singh, a computer consultant, stabbed him in the neck and robbed him of a mobile phone in Ulsoor police station limits. The police said the incident occurred around 11.30 p.m. on Gangadhar Chetty Road while Amardeep Singh, a resident of Yellamma Koil Street, was walking home from a hotel.
Five injured
Five persons, all aged between 30 and 35, were injured when a van rammed against a tree near Azad Nagar, off Mysore Road flyover, on Friday. The condition of the injured persons, who are in Victoria Hospital, is said to be critical. The names of the injured were given as Palani, Murugan, Mani, Muttukrishnan and Kemparaj. They were on their way to Mandya for construction work when the accident occurred.
