Back AEPC to open two more training centres Our Bureau
New Delhi , May 21 The Apparel Export Promotion Council has decided to open its 15th and 16th centres of the Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC) at Kanpur and Tronica city in Uttar Pradesh as part of its mission to provide trained manpower to the apparel industry in the country. According to a statement issued here by the Council, the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) has provided built-up space at the `Textile & Hosiery Park', Rooma, Kanpur and Apparel Park for Export, Tronica City, Ghaziabad district (UP) respectively to the AEPC at a nominal cost.
Lease agreement signed
The lease agreement between the two organisations was signed here between the AEPC Secretary General, Mr K.K. Jalan, and the UPSIDC Managing Director, Mr Chanchal Kumar Tewary. The apparel industry of Uttar Pradesh would be immensely benefited after the opening of ATDC at Kanpur and Tronica City, as trained manpower would be made available that would eventually boost the productivity in the apparel industry. Mr K.K. Jalan said that 13 centres of the ATDC are already functioning at Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Jaipur, Ludhiana, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Tirupur, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, Mumbai, Indore and the14th centre at Surat would be functional shortly. The centres at Kanpur and Tronica city would begin functioning during the current year itself. He said that in all the centres of ATDC around 6,000 students are currently undergoing training and 100 per cent students passing out of the various centres of the ATDC immediately get absorbed in the apparel industry.
