D. Yesoda, CLP deputy leader

CHENNAI: D. Yesoda, elected from the Sriperumbudur constituency in the recent Assembly elections, has been nominated as the deputy leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP).

D. Sudarsanam had already been elected as the CLP leader at a meeting of the party MLAs held here on Friday under the chairmanship of M. Veerappa Moily. At that time Mr. Moily announced that other office-bearers of the CLP would be announced by Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president M.Krishnasswamy in consultation with the new CLP leader.

Other office-bearers

The TNCC chief in a press release here on Thursday announced the other office-bearers of the CLP: S. Peter Alphonse, (Kadayanallur) — whip, C. Gnanasekaran (Vellore) — deputy whip, K.R. Ramasamy (Tiruvadanai) and P. Veldurai (Cheranmadevi) — secretaries and P.S. Vijayakumar (Polur) — treasurer.
